When looking for new employees, some companies simply look through piles of resumes that were sent to them. However, this method won't help them find talented people who are already employed at other companies. The alternative is to take a more active approach. Instead of waiting for resumes to be sent to them, some companies go out and look for potential workers. They choose places where they can see workers displaying the skills they are looking for, such as restaurant and department stores. Searching for people who show energy, enthusiasm and friendliness, they walk through aisle, order meals and buy products. One hiring manager who use the method explained "We're not worried about experience. We can train people to do our work. However, we can't teach passion, enthusiasm and hard work."
